Personal InjuryKristy Kalin was born and raised in Calgary and was called to the Alberta Bar in July 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a concentration in writing, from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Laws from Cardiff University in Wales, where she served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Canadian Students' Association and was a member of the rowing team and the creative writing club. After returning from the UK she completed her Certificate of Qualification through the National Committee of Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and in 2018 co-authored a paper with Max Blitt, KC, on reducing the trauma of child abduction proceedings for children. She practises family law and mediation, drawing on experience in civil litigation, real estate, personal injury and wills and estates, and appears before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King's Bench of Alberta. She has been published in the Calgary Public Library's Tap Press Read short story anthology and was a featured writer for Loft 112's Inner City Stories.
