About Max

Max Blitt, Q.C. has practised law with Spier Harben in Calgary since 1993, focusing on international and domestic child abduction cases along with family law, wills and estates, and real estate matters. He has represented left-behind parents and their counsel in Hague Convention child abduction cases involving dozens of countries, and has argued relocation and return-order applications before Alberta courts, including cases addressing cross-border relocation under the Divorce Act. He earned a BA (Pre-Law) from the University of Calgary in 1973 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 1974, and has been appointed Queen's Counsel of Alberta. He belongs to numerous professional associations, including the International Academy of Family Lawyers, the International Bar Association, and the International Child Abduction Attorney Network, and has spoken and published on child abduction and cross-border mediation for decades.
