About Kelsey
Kelsey Fortier holds a JD with Distinction from the University of Alberta, where she worked as a debate coach, provided research assistance to Alberta Justice, and volunteered with student legal services. She received the Merv Leitch Q.C. Prize, the Sydney B. Woods Q.C. Memorial Prize in Constitutional Law, and the Sheldon M. Chumir Memorial Essay Prize, and finished second overall in the Wilson Moot. Kelsey joined Chivers Carpenter as an associate in 2024, practising labour, employment and human rights law, having previously articled with Alberta Justice in civil litigation, criminal law, environmental law and administrative law before being hired as a Crown Prosecutor.
