About Katie

Katie Mongeau is a criminal defence lawyer and associate at Edelson Foord Law. She received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa Law School, graduating cum laude in 2025, having focused her studies on criminal law and advocacy. She was a student caseworker and division leader in the Criminal Division of the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, representing clients on criminal charges and provincial offences, and sits on the board of directors of the Collaborative Justice Program, a restorative justice program in Ottawa. Before law school she studied Criminology with a Minor in Law at the University of Ottawa. Katie joined Edelson Foord Law in 2019 as a Legal Assistant to Michael Edelson, later becoming Office Manager while attending law school, and worked as a summer student in 2024 and an articling student in 2025-2026.
