About Matthew

Matthew Takamatsu is a criminal defence lawyer and associate at Edelson Foord Law, where he completed his articles assisting on matters including impaired driving, sexual assault, murder and drug cases. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Ottawa's English Common Law Program, and during law school worked for the Department of Justice's Criminal Conviction Review Group, reviewing cases involving alleged wrongful convictions. He previously attended the University of Guelph, earning a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy, and has represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice.
