About Kanwalpreet

Kanwalpreet Kaur, who also practises as Kanwal Aneja, was born and raised in Punjab, India, and completed her legal studies at the National Law University, Punjab, along with a master's degree in Access to Justice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai. After being called to the bar in India, she practised criminal defence and family law in Punjab before immigrating to Vancouver in 2021 to pursue a master's in Canadian Common Law at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law. While in Vancouver she volunteered with the Law Students' Legal Advice Program and researched courthouse safety for survivors of violence at the Rise Women's Legal Centre. She was called to the bar in British Columbia in August 2023 and now practises at Cates Ford Soll & Epp, offering services in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
