Agricultural LawMary MacGregor has worked with closely held businesses throughout her career, with a practice focused primarily on corporate and commercial law for clients in the Interior's resource and service sectors, including ranching, timber, mining, and tourism. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and from the same institution in 1976 with a Bachelor of Laws, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1977. She has practised law in Merritt and Kamloops since 1977 and started Mary MacGregor Law Corporation in 1995. She received her King's Counsel designation, formerly Queen's Counsel, in December 2014. Her professional activities have included serving as a governor of the Law Foundation of British Columbia and on the Thompson Rivers University Law School Advisory Committee, and her government appointments have included the British Columbia Farm Debt Review Board and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation Board of Directors. She has also served as a director of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association and the British Columbia Cattlemen's Association.
