About Candace
Candace Cates earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of British Columbia in 1978 and her law degree from the same school in 1983, and she was called to the bar in 1984. She began her career at a Kamloops firm before working in Vancouver, then returned to Kamloops in 1991 and became a partner in 1997 as the firm evolved through several mergers into what is now Cates Ford Soll & Epp LLP. Her practice covers estates, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care agreements, and corporate, commercial, and real estate law. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Interior Women's Law Forum, and has volunteered with the Kamloops Pro-Bono Clinic and served as a past director of the United Way and the Kamloops Symphony.
