About Jonathan

Jonathan McDaniel is a partner at Lenczner Slaght with a broad litigation practice spanning corporate-commercial disputes, arbitration, and public law. His clients have included manufacturers, developers, insurers, financial institutions, regulated professionals, technology firms, oil and gas companies, government agencies, and boards of directors. He has litigated across Ontario's courts, before the Alberta and Manitoba Courts of King's Bench, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, and administrative bodies such as the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. Before practicing law, Jon worked for federal cabinet ministers in two portfolios, and while at law school he volunteered at Toronto's Downtown Legal Services clinic representing individuals facing criminal charges. He earned his JD from the University of Toronto, where he won the Laskin Prize in Constitutional Law, and holds a BA in History, Political Science, and Classics from McGill University. He was called to the bar in Alberta in 2017 and in Ontario in 2018.
