John Yiokaris is a partner at Sotos LLP who leads the firm's Automotive practice, having acted as lead counsel for several major Canadian automotive manufacturers and numerous dealers, including in dealership disputes and cases handled through the National Automobile Dealer Arbitration Program. He also heads the firm's Trademark group and advises on registering and licensing trademarks. John's franchise practice covers sectors including hotels, restaurants, grocery retailers, real estate and professional services firms, where he advises on system development and on structuring transfers when franchisees run into financial trouble. He serves as the firm's co-managing partner and is proficient in Greek and Swedish. John was called to the Ontario bar in 2000 and holds a Masters of International and Comparative Law from Stockholm University, earned the same year.
