About John

John Kennedy is a civil and commercial litigator at Porter Ramsay in Kelowna, focusing on construction and personal injury matters. He has appeared before courts in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as numerous regulatory tribunals. John earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Regina, then completed his law degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1982. He articled in Edmonton and was called to the Alberta bar in 1984, then earned a Master of Laws with honours from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand in 1986. After a further period in private practice in Edmonton, he moved to Kelowna and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1998. John has taught at the college and university level and is a frequent speaker on medical and legal issues at physician conferences. He has served on the boards of several charitable organizations, coaches soccer, and is a past president of the Kelowna United Select Soccer Club.
