Bankruptcy & InsolvencyWilliam joined Doak Shirreff in 2017 after retiring from the judiciary, where he served as a Master of the Supreme Court of British Columbia from 1989 and as a District Registrar from 1982 to 1989. He was called to the bar in 1975 and practised law privately in Victoria, British Columbia, from 1975 to 1982. At the firm he provides mediation and arbitration services, litigation advice and private settlement conferences, drawing on more than 40 years of dispute-resolution experience in areas including business disputes, construction claims, personal injury, insurance claims, and wills and estates matters. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University (1974), a Master of Business Administration from Western University (1970), and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Queen's University (1968). He previously served as governor and chair of the board of governors of Glenlyon-Norfolk School and as director and president of the Uplands Golf Club board.
