About John

John Alousis is counsel at Barriston Law, joining the firm in 2026 with a background in corporate, commercial, and real estate law along with development projects and wills and estates work. He has been part of the Barrie legal community since 1990 and ran his own firm from 1997 onward. He holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the bar in 1989. He has taught the Canadian Construction Association's accredited Construction Law course at Georgian College and Business Law for the Business Development Bank of Canada. He is a past president of the Simcoe County Home Builder's Association, a longtime member and past leader of the Rotary Club of Barrie-Huronia, a former chair of Victoria Village's board, and a co-founding member of Barrie Cares.
