About Jillian

Jillian Toonders is an associate lawyer at Burchell MacDougall's Truro office, joining as an articled clerk and becoming an associate following her 2024 call to the bar. Before law school she worked as a legal assistant and later as a federal government paralegal, earning awards for her work, before starting her JD at the University of New Brunswick during the pandemic, where she won the Blake, Cassels & Graydon Scholarship. She serves on the boards of the Colchester Sexual Assault Centre and the Truro Pride Society.
