About James
James MacInnis carries on a commercial litigation practice and has appeared as counsel before the British Columbia courts for more than 25 years. He clerked for the Chief Justice of British Columbia at the Court of Appeal. MacInnis was called to the British Columbia bar in 1998 and holds an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia, where he was a gold medallist, and degrees from McGill University including an M.A. and a B.A. with Honours. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2019 and received Best Lawyers Canada's Lawyer of the Year award for Corporate Commercial Litigation in 2024. He has served on the boards of the KidSafe Project Society and Crofton House School.
