Brandon Hastings represents clients in civil and family disputes at all levels of court, including the British Columbia Court of Appeal, where he has often succeeded in challenging trial-level findings. He also works outside of court as a mediator and as a negotiator on his clients' behalf, aiming to resolve disputes without the expense of litigation. His reported cases include Pisarski v Piesik, 2019 BCCA 129, which set new law on the treatment of excluded funds put into joint property, and Helle v. Helle, 2019 BCCA 97, which set new law on the correlation-probably-equals-causation test for post-separation income increases in spousal support cases. He holds a B.B.A. (with distinction) and a Juris Doctor, and volunteers regularly in the legal community.
