About Demola

Dr. Demola Okeowo's practice focuses on administrative law generally, and specifically on immigration, refugee, and citizenship law, employment, labour, human rights, and residential tenancy, with legal training and experience gained in Africa, Europe, and North America. He has represented clients in refugee matters, residence and citizenship applications, inadmissibility and detention review, judicial review, wrongful dismissal, employment agreement drafting, occupational health and safety issues, human rights litigation, and residential tenancy disputes. He has appeared before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, the Social Security Tribunal, WorkSafeBC, the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board, the BC Labour Relations Board, the BC Residential Tenancy Branch, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, BC Provincial and Supreme Courts, and the Federal Court of Canada. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of British Columbia, LLM degrees from Queen's University and the University of Groningen (Netherlands), an LLB from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria, and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. He is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Alberta, and was called as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and is a founding member of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association.
