About Jaclyn

Jaclyn McNamara is a partner at OKT whose practice focuses on protecting Aboriginal, title and Treaty rights through litigation and negotiation. She has appeared before courts at various levels across the country, including appellate courts, on behalf of Indigenous clients, and has prepared claims for First Nations before the Specific Claims Commission. Before joining OKT, Jaclyn served as legal counsel to Justice Michael Tulloch of the Court of Appeal for Ontario during his independent review of police street checks, and she clerked for the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Her representative work includes acting for the Saugeen Ojibway Nation in its Aboriginal title claim, serving as class counsel in litigation over drinking water advisories on First Nations reserves, and representing the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation before the Alberta Court of Appeal on consultation rights related to energy projects. She earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from McMaster University, and is a member of the Ontario bar.
