About J.
Scott Stanley is a partner at Murphy Battista LLP. Scott began by defending institutional defendants, including insurance companies, corporations and governments, before switching to represent only individuals and small companies with claims against institutional defendants, eventually becoming the first lawyer to join the firm's original two partners. Every case is prepared for trial, on the view that thorough trial preparation is what makes clients' claims taken seriously in settlement negotiations, and Scott has conducted and won some of the largest trials in the history of British Columbia. Scott earned an LLB from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 1994 and a B.Comm from the University of Saskatchewan, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1995.
