About Irina Davis

Irina Davis is a senior family lawyer at Gelman & Associates. For separating spouses who'd like to settle things outside a courtroom, Irina holds training and certification in collaborative family law, the structured process where each person works with their own collaboratively trained lawyer. Irina has also completed professional training on narcissism and narcissistic abuse.

Science came first. Irina earned a B.Sc. in biology and psychology at York University, then stayed on the same campus for law school at Osgoode Hall, finishing a Juris Doctor in 2006 and joining the bar in 2007. Irina's representative cases stretch from Chowzun v. Lee in the Ontario Court of Justice in 2016 to Kapila v. Chhina in the Superior Court of Justice in 2023.

Law school didn't leave much spare time, but Irina still found room to help others. Alongside a demanding course load, Irina worked as a court reporter and took in-class notes for deaf students at both Seneca and George Brown Colleges.

Irina was born in Romania, grew up partly in Canada and partly in Finland, and is still fluent in Romanian. Travel has taken Irina to Indonesia, Alaska, New Orleans and China. Outside the office there's photography, interior design projects and the piano, with a Grade 9 certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
