About Brooke
Brooke Parkes joined Gelman & Associates in 2020 and returned to the firm to article once she finished law school. She obtained her law degree from the University of Birmingham, graduating at the top of her class, and while there she led the university's Pro Bono Clinic offering free family law advice to the public. Her dissertation on regulating surrogacy payments in England was later published. Brooke also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, from which she graduated with honours, presenting a capstone thesis on philosophy and health law in her final year. During law school she campaigned for expanded access to government-funded fertility treatments and led group therapy sessions for people navigating infertility.
