Wills, Estates & TrustsDoug Beamish is a family law and estate litigation lawyer who joined the firm as counsel. He brings more than 38 years of experience handling property rights, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, and domestic contracts such as marriage, cohabitation and separation agreements, along with corporate, partnership and trust interests. His estate litigation work addresses the validity of wills and other testamentary documents, trust disputes, variation proceedings and dependent support claims. Doug prefers to resolve matters through negotiation but is an experienced advocate before the courts and in mediation and arbitration when needed. He was called to the bar in 1980 and previously spent eight years as a partner at a mid-size firm after years with a national firm. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1978.
