About Aman Sekhon

Aman Sekhon is a family lawyer at Gelman & Associates with real time in the courtroom, having appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice as well as the Superior Court of Justice. That courtroom experience comes paired with a way of working that puts open communication first, so clients can land on resolutions that are amicable and still effective.

Aman's road into law ran through Texas. After a commerce degree at McMaster, Aman earned a Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University in Houston in 2007, then came home to Ontario and was called to the bar in 2010. Work at a Mississauga firm came first, and once called, Aman practised as a barrister and solicitor with a firm in downtown Toronto. Later came a practice of Aman's own handling family and real estate files, before the move to Gelman & Associates.

Law runs in the family. Aman's father and paternal grandfather both went to law school first, which made Aman, who was born in Hamilton, the third generation to graduate.

Outside work, Aman is a parent of two who's closely involved in the kids' sports, coaching a son's rep basketball team and pitching in regularly as a volunteer with a daughter's competitive swim team. Downtime means family, new food (Thai, Italian, Indian, and street tacos above all) and plenty of sports on TV, with the Dallas Cowboys, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Knicks and Boston Bruins getting the cheers.
