About Ian

Ian Worland has practised tax and estates law since his call to the Bar in 1996, regularly advising clients on personal and corporate tax planning, corporate reorganizations, estate planning, charitable gift planning and international tax and trust planning, including tax issues arising from business sales, divorce and separation, and variations of trusts and wills. He has represented clients in disputes with the CRA and BC's Ministry of Provincial Revenue and has appeared in courts at all levels, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He graduated from UBC with an LLB in 1995 and has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 2002, serving as Chair of STEP Canada from 2013 to 2015.
