About Hilary

Hilary Newman practises in administrative law and civil litigation, representing individuals, municipalities, and regulated entities before courts and tribunals. She advises public sector clients on access to information requests and has acted for municipalities on land use planning appeals before the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission. Her work also includes defending employers and public sector clients in human rights complaints, drafting workplace policies, and negotiating termination and severance matters. Newman has prosecuted disciplinary charges against members of professional regulatory bodies and advised public bodies on privacy and disclosure obligations. She earned her JD from the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law in 2016 and a B.Comm. from Saint Mary's University in 2011. She was called to the Prince Edward Island bar in 2017.
