Graeme Cook

About Graeme

Graeme Cook is an associate at OKT whose litigation practice centres on section 35 Aboriginal rights claims and appeals. He joined the firm in 2020 after clerking at the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and the Supreme Court of Canada. Since then he has represented First Nations across the country on matters including Aboriginal and treaty rights, Indigenous governance and jurisdiction, the Indian Act, reserve land administration, and taxation, and he has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and New Brunswick as well as at the Supreme Court of Canada. A member of Metlakatla First Nation, Graeme holds a JD from the University of British Columbia, where he worked at the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic and competed in the Gale Cup Moot. He also earned a BA in Political Science from UBC and an MA in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa, and before law school he worked for the City of Toronto, including as an analyst and investigator with the Office of the Toronto Ombudsman. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
