About Frederick

Fred Dent has practised corporate and commercial law in Calgary since being admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1979, with extensive domestic and international experience in banking and finance, share and asset acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, long-term employee incentive plans, and estate freezes and exit strategies for small business owners. He has represented energy services companies on corporate takeovers and drilling rig acquisitions in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru, and has structured sale and lease transactions for oil and gas equipment in Australia and the United States. Dent earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction (1973) and an LL.B. (1978), both from the University of Alberta. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association's Natural Resources Law Section and the Law Society of Alberta.
