About Charlie

Charlie Spence joined Miles Davison in 1982 and became a partner in 1984, with a practice covering corporate and commercial law, oil and gas, banking and securities including equity and debt financing, oil and gas divestitures and acquisitions, contract interpretation and dispute resolution, and enforcement of security. He has lectured at Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary and presented papers on security enforcement and oil and gas acquisitions. Spence earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 1974 and an LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1977, was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1978, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in the Province of Alberta in 2002. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and a past director of the Southwest Athletic Association, the Calgary Contemporary Arts Society, and the Petroleum Communication Foundation.
