About Francoise

Francoise has more than thirty years of experience in complex legal disputes and also offers mediation and arbitration services, with a particular focus on estate litigation. Her reported decisions include Nelson Estate (2013), which addressed dividing an estate between a second spouse and a dependent adult from a first marriage; Lopushinsky Estate, upheld on appeal in Holowaychuk v. Lopushinsky; Berry Estate, addressing executor compensation; and From Estate, where a will's validity was successfully challenged on the basis the deceased suffered from delusions. She chaired the Legal Education Society of Alberta's 2024 seminar on estate litigation and has presented on capacity, undue influence, and wills and estates topics for the Society and the Canadian Bar Association. She was a sessional instructor in judgment enforcement law at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law from 2004 to 2009 and is active on the executive of the CBA's wills and estates and alternative dispute resolution sections (Alberta North).
