About Erin

Erin Sobat helps trade unions, associations, and individual workers pursue justice at work. He advises on employment and collective bargaining matters and appears before arbitrators, tribunals, and the courts, and he also represents unions and workers in Workplace Safety and Insurance Board claims and appeals. With a background in the student union movement, he believes strongly in the power of collective action to address social and economic inequities. He attended Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, graduating near the top of his class, and worked at the firm as a summer and articling student. He was also a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services, helping low-wage and precarious workers fight for their rights, and served as a union steward. Before returning to the firm, he completed a judicial clerkship at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, assisting judges with appeals across many areas of law. His writing has appeared in the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal, the Journal of Law and Social Policy, and TheCourt.ca, on topics such as workplace harassment, wrongful dismissal, and the Charter.
