About Erika

Erika Richards' work spans litigation and Aboriginal, environmental, and administrative law, specific claims, and supporting Indigenous governments with legislative drafting and employment matters, with a litigation practice focused on helping Nations address historical and ongoing colonial frameworks. She served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 2014 to 2022, working with the Air Cadet Gliding Program, and later worked as a legislative analyst with the Province of BC before articling at Woodward & Company starting in 2020 and beginning practice there in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and a master's degree in trumpet performance, both from the University of Victoria, following earlier classical music training in Edmonton, Alberta, and a law degree from the University of Victoria with a certificate in environmental law and sustainability. She has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia since 2022 and notes that environmental concerns first motivated her legal career.
