She served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 2014 to 2022, working with the Air Cadet Gliding Program, and later worked as a legislative analyst with the Province of BC before articling at Woodward & Company starting in 2020 and beginning practice there in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and a master's degree in trumpet performance, both from the University of Victoria, following earlier classical music training in Edmonton, Alberta, and a law degree from the University of Victoria with a certificate in environmental law and sustainability. She has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia since 2022 and notes that environmental concerns first motivated her legal career.
