About Emily

Emily joined Babin Bessner Spry as an associate in 2025, after her articling and summer terms there. She earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, where she served as a research assistant on intellectual property policy and international development at the school's Centre for Law, Technology and Society. She also worked as an associate editor of the Ottawa Law Review and completed a securities law internship in the fintech sector. In 2024, she and two teammates took first place in both the oral and written portions of the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot. Before law school, Emily worked in strategic policy and planning at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, and she holds a BA with Distinction from Queen's University. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2025 and speaks French.
