About Elliot

Elliot is a partner in the firm's Labour and Employment Group and heads its Sports Law Group. He acts for companies in employment disputes, judicial review applications, and other administrative law matters, and he advises on mergers and acquisitions, mass terminations, executive compensation, and human rights and employment standards issues. In his sports law practice, Elliot represents professional and amateur athletes, coaches, and sports organizations, including NHL clubs, on matters ranging from salary negotiation and endorsements to disciplinary investigations and Safe Sport complaints. He has appeared before bodies including the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, the NHL/NHLPA salary arbitration panel, and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. In 2022, he was elected to the Adjudicatory Body of World Aquatics' Aquatics Integrity Unit, representing Canada. He holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and a business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
