About Ellie

Ellie Slavens is a partner at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto and leads the firm's Labour Market Impact Assessment practice. Her immigration practice touches on nearly every area of Canadian immigration law, from temporary work permits and study permits to visitor visas and permanent residence applications under Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee Programs. She frequently handles LMIA applications, compliance reviews conducted under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, and inspections carried out under the International Mobility Program. Ellie also assists clients facing criminal or medical inadmissibility, including applications for temporary resident permits and criminal rehabilitation. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2006, following a B.A. in psychology from the same university in 2002, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2007. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Law Society of Ontario, and supports the Parkinson Society Canada as a fundraiser.
