About David

David Dunbar brings senior-level experience from both business and government to his commercial and regulatory practice. He previously served as Senior General Counsel of the Competition Bureau and held a senior in-house role at Weston Foods. His work spans commercial contracts, privacy and data protection agreements, and marketing compliance, and he regularly assists sales teams in negotiating complex agreements and developing playbooks. David has acted as interim Privacy Officer for clients and has experience responding to cyberattacks and other crises. He also advises on anti-bribery and corruption, CASL and anti-spam rules, and Competition Act matters. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario, earned with distinction, and a B.A. from Queen's University.
