About Danielle

Danielle Bisnar is a partner at Cavalluzzo LLP whose practice covers workers' rights, Indigenous rights, equality, health, and Aboriginal law. She represents unions and associations, regulated health professionals such as nurses and midwives, and First Nations in matters spanning labour disputes, government relations, human rights, health equity, pay equity, and professional regulation. Danielle has litigated complex systemic discrimination cases on behalf of women, racialized workers, and workers with disabilities, and has twice appeared for the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund as an intervener at the Supreme Court of Canada, in Canada v. Johnstone on family status discrimination and Fraser v. Canada on pension equality for caregivers. She holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she received the Hallett Entrance Scholarship, and earned graduate degrees in Social and Political Thought and English Literature before turning to law. Her approach draws on feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial perspectives, shaped in part by her own history as a union member and community organizer with Filipinx migrant workers.
