About Daniel
Daniel leads McInnes Cooper's Ocean Economy Team, with a practice focused on litigation, marine and energy law. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Newfoundland & Labrador, and the Federal Court, and advises clients in the marine and energy industries, including fishing and aquaculture interests, offshore regulators, shipowners, insurers, and port authorities. Beyond litigation, he provides regulatory, commercial and transactional advice to energy and natural resource companies and other commercial clients. Daniel sits on volunteer boards including the Canadian Maritime Law Association and the Eastern Admiralty Law Association, and teaches Oil & Gas Law as part-time faculty at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 2008 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2009.
