About Daniel
Daniel Ilas is a partner with the corporate and securities group at Owens Wright LLP, focusing on public and private mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, securities matters, and private equity deals. He also advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters. Daniel has guided numerous private placements involving issuers on the Canadian Securities Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, and regularly counsels public companies on governance and securities compliance. He completed his law degree in French at the University of Ottawa, was named to the Dean's Honour List, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 after articling in downtown Toronto. Before moving to Canada, Daniel worked as a lawyer and tenured professor of law and political science at A.I. Cuza University in Romania, where he was called to the bar in 1998.
