About Daniel
Daniel Hohnstein is a partner at Tereposky & DeRose who represents governments and private sector clients in complex international trade matters, regularly appearing as counsel in WTO dispute settlement proceedings in Geneva. He advises on WTO obligations including the GATT, Anti-Dumping, SCM, SPS, TBT, Safeguards, and Government Procurement Agreements, and on regional trade agreements including CUSMA/USMCA, CETA, CPTPP, and the Canada-UK Trade Continuity Agreement. He also represents clients in anti-dumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard matters before the CBSA and the CITT, and advises on customs compliance issues such as tariff classification, country of origin, and valuation. Hohnstein is an Associate Editor of Trade Law Guide and a Director (International Trade) of the Canadian Chapter of the Association Internationale des Juristes du Droit de la Vigne et du Vin. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2011 and holds an LL.B./J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and three degrees from the University of Western Ontario: a B.A. (Hons.) in English Language and Literature, a B.Ed., and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry.
