About Dana

Dana C. Neilson has practiced primarily in personal injury litigation for more than 20 years throughout Alberta and British Columbia, conducting numerous trials and appearing at all levels of court, including the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, the British Columbia Supreme Court, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 1993 and worked as in-house counsel in Vancouver before entering private practice at Hammerberg Lawyers LLP, later completing transfer examinations and being called to the Alberta bar in 2001. Dana moved to Calgary in 2005 and continues to be an active member of both the Alberta and British Columbia bars, litigating cases in both provinces. She authored a paper on jurisdictional issues between Alberta and British Columbia, presented while co-chairing the Insurance and Personal Injury Panel for the Alberta Law Conference. Dana earned her BA (Honours) from the University of Toronto in 1989 and her LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 1992, and volunteers with Level's Indigenous Youth Outreach Program.
