Administrative & Regulatory LawDan joined Babin Bessner Spry as an associate in 2026 after working as a Crown prosecutor with the Ministry of the Attorney General in both British Columbia and Ontario. His prosecutorial work covered criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory offences, including complex financial and environmental cases, and in BC he prosecuted with the Organized Crime Unit and the Commercial, Police, and Regulatory Unit. He has also served as legal counsel for a major Toronto hospital and as an expert legislative advisor on environmental enforcement to Environment and Climate Change Canada. Dan has acted as lead trial counsel in dozens of trials in British Columbia and regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. He earned his J.D. from the University of Victoria and an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on criminal and regulatory law, and he speaks Spanish.
