About Craig
Craig Johnston advises on a wide range of business law matters, drawing on experience both as a private practitioner and as chief operating officer and general counsel for a group of private companies operating in Canada and the United States. He has guided transportation, leasing and waste-management companies through periods of change and worked on complex debt financings, restructurings, acquisitions and divestitures, including a $330 million equipment leasing divestiture and multi-billion dollar credit facility restructurings. Before joining Ingenuity, he was a business law partner at a major Bay Street firm and a founding member of a boutique association of independent counsel. Johnston was called to the Ontario bar in 1997 and holds a history degree, a master's in development economics from Dalhousie University, and a law degree from the University of Toronto, where he won the Canada Law Book Competition Law Prize. He previously worked as an economist for the Ontario government and became a CSA-certified Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier in 2012.
