About Constance Too

Constance (Connie) Too is a partner and registered patent agent in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, with more than 20 years of practice in intellectual property. Connie works at both ends of a patent's life: getting new inventions protected, and then litigating and enforcing patents and industrial designs once they're granted. Life sciences and technology are the sectors at the heart of the practice.

Connie's ties to the firm's Ottawa office go back to 1993, when Connie first joined as an articling student, and the call to the Ontario bar followed in 1995. That training spans science and law, with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Queen's University.

Clients also turn to Connie for legal opinions, due diligence and case assessments, and for strategy on enforcement, managing risk and alternative approaches. Inside Gowling WLG, Connie helps oversee the Ottawa IP services department, sits on the patent precedent committee, takes part in the mentoring programme and the Ottawa Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Sub-Committee, and serves as a Respect in the Workplace Advisor.
