About Colin

Colin Baxter is a founding member of Conway with a bilingual civil litigation practice focused on public and administrative law. He has represented sophisticated commercial clients for more than 30 years, including 18 years at a national law firm, acting for business owners, franchisors, lessors and lessees, and trustees. He is frequently retained for technology disputes, insurance-related litigation, defamation actions, and matters involving procurement, shareholders, insolvency, product liability, and trusts. Colin also advises on appellate practice and regularly acts as an agent before the Supreme Court of Canada, and has appeared before several federal and provincial public inquiries. He served as a law clerk to Justices Wilson and Iacobucci at the Supreme Court of Canada and has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario as well as the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. He holds an enhanced Government of Canada security clearance and is a designated Special Advocate for national security cases.
