About David
David Taylor is the Managing Partner at Conway, maintaining a bilingual litigation and advisory practice focused on public law, appellate advocacy, minority rights, and the relationship between the citizen and the state. For more than a decade, he has been counsel of record in the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada's complaint before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal concerning inequities in child welfare services on-reserve. From 2013 to 2019, he was part of the plaintiffs' trial and appellate team in a major case on French-language education rights, and from 2016 to 2021 he served as counsel to the Independent Assessor under the Merlo Davidson class action settlement addressing harassment and discrimination against women in the RCMP. David has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on ten occasions and before courts and tribunals in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia. Before being called to the bar, he clerked for Justice Andromache Karakatsanis at the Supreme Court of Canada, and before his legal career he worked for the Senate of Canada's Administrative Branch.
