Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionChristopher Evans practices Aboriginal, environmental, administrative, and constitutional law, with an emphasis on litigation, handling Aboriginal title, treaty, and duty-to-consult cases as well as regulatory proceedings for resource development projects. He represents clients in specific claims and government and industry negotiations, and has worked on cases including a challenge related to the Ring of Fire mining development and the $104 million Whitefish River First Nation specific claims settlement in 2020. He co-edited the Aboriginal Law Handbook, 5th edition (Carswell, 2018). He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science in political science from McMaster University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and joined Woodward & Company as Senior Counsel in 2025 after being called to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2014 and the Law Society of Ontario in 2018.
