About Christa

Christa Croos specializes in environmental and regulatory law, governance, and policy making, driven to use law and policy to protect the prosperity of Indigenous peoples and the places important to them. Her practice areas include additions to reserve, consultation and accommodation, contaminated sites, First Nation constitutions and laws, governance support, housing, land code, land use planning, natural resources, regulatory processes, and strategic reconciliation planning. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in chemistry and environmental science from the University of Toronto, where she received the Scarborough campus' departmental Academic Excellence and Citizenship Award, a master's degree in public policy and administration from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a law degree from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude in 2021 with a specialization in environmental law. Before joining Woodward & Company, she articled at the Environmental Law Centre at the University of Victoria, providing environmental law services to Indigenous clients. She grew up in Sri Lanka and Scarborough, Ontario, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2022, later adding the Northwest Territories (2023) and Ontario (2025).
