Chris Kinnear Hunter is a partner in the litigation department, known for his work on commercial disputes and international arbitration. He has considerable trial experience, having appeared as counsel in courts across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada and various arbitral tribunals. His work centers on complex business disputes, often involving contractual claims, corporate rights, and cross-border economic torts. Chris also maintains a substantial arbitration practice, having argued cases under treaties and procedural frameworks such as ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, AAA, and ADRIC, and has handled recognition and enforcement proceedings for both award creditors and debtors. He advises major Canadian companies on class actions and tribunal matters tied to competition and consumer protection law. Chris previously led the Young Advocates' Standing Committee and now sits on the commercial litigation practice group of The Advocates' Society.
