About Celeste
Celeste Small is a partner practising civil litigation with a focus on insurance defence, advising insurers on construction, property damage and product liability disputes as well as serious personal injury and commercial host claims. She is known for detailed coverage opinions on CGL, property, builders' risk, course of construction, motor vehicle and E&O policies, and has extensive experience with motor vehicle, slip and fall and non-WCB workplace injury claims. Her approach starts with an early analysis of each file and ongoing reassessment of options for resolution, though she is prepared to litigate through to trial when settlement isn't possible. Celeste has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and before several administrative tribunals. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan and a BA from the University of Calgary.
