About Cassandra
Cassandra Theune joined Jones Kopp Litigation Partners in 2021 after working for one of Canada's largest national insurers and at a Toronto insurance defence firm, where she built broad experience with tort claims. Her practice today centres on personal injury, property loss, subrogation, professional liability, occupiers' liability and commercial host claims. Having acted for both plaintiffs and defendants, including as trial counsel on plaintiff files, she brings a dual perspective to assessing risk and building case strategy. She has jury trial experience and has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice and Small Claims Court. Earlier in her career she also worked in-house, advising executives on corporate, commercial, privacy and contract matters. Theune earned her J.D. from Western University's Faculty of Law in 2012 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2013.
